Verifiability of CBD
How long does CBD stay in the body?
The options for consuming CBD are diverse. The way of ingestion not only has an influence on the mode of action. Also how long the CBD is detectable in the body depends on it.
To discuss the presence of CBD in the body, the half-life must be brought into play. This describes how long it takes the body to reduce the CBD level to half of its original level.
There are no uniformly substantiated scientific statements on the half-life of CBD. However, it is assumed that it is a maximum of 12 hours after a single oral intake. With regular consumption, however, it is estimated at two to five days.
It is important to note at this point that the half-life of CBD depends on the person. Various factors influence how long CBD actually remains detectable in the body.
Active individuals break down CBD faster
In principle, you can only passively influence how long CBD remains in your body after ingestion. Decisive parameters are the CBD concentration and the dose. The higher the concentration, the longer the CBD is detectable. The more you take, the longer your body is busy breaking it down.
The frequency of consumption must also be taken into account. If your body gets used to a regular CBD intake, it will take longer overall to break down. This is due to the cannabinoids that gradually accumulate in the bloodstream and fat cells.
To break down CBD as quickly as possible, an active lifestyle is advantageous. This stimulates the body’s own metabolic processes, so that the CBD is metabolized faster and thus broken down.
In old age, metabolic processes are generally somewhat slower. Accordingly, with advancing years of life, it also takes longer for CBD to leave the body again.
Consuming CBD on an empty stomach also leads to rapid degradation. The simple reason: If the body is not busy with digestion, it can put more energy into metabolizing.
Asked to test: What can be detected, what not?
The vaporizer is probably the most effective way to ingest CBD. However, just as quickly as the effect occurs, it also fades again. As already mentioned, the half-life of CBD can only be vaguely determined. According to various studies, the half-life of vaporized CBD is between one and two hours.
The oral intake, on the other hand, can be detected a little longer. Here, the half-life is between two and three hours. However, it can be up to ten hours with sublingual intake.
If you apply CBD topically, for example with Tom Hemp’s Body Lotion on the skin, CBD is not detectable in the body at all. After all, the substance does not even enter the bloodstream, but acts only locally.
Conclusion: Frequency and dose are crucial
When you add CBD to your body, it is detectable in most cases. However, how long the CBD stays in your body depends on several factors. If it is a one-time intake and a low dose, the body does not have much to do. After one day, the breakdown substances are usually already excreted.
The more regular the consumption and the larger the doses, the longer the CBD stays in the body. Since the cannabinoids accumulate in the blood and fat after weeks of consumption, they can sometimes still be detected up to two weeks after the last intake. A hair analysis goes back even further.
It should be noted, however, that every body breaks down CBD differently. Depending on age, diet and metabolism, the CBD can stay longer or shorter in the organism.
